Sid Winslow

Sid is a project manager and A3's Director of Quality. His primary function is providing support for the development of new business for Government and Department of Defense projects. His work as project manager is to support all Gov/DOD and some commercial projects. As Directory of Quality, he works with the A3 team to implement process improvement efforts with a focus on efficiency (meaning he keeps us doing only the tasks that add value to the customer) and effectiveness (doing it right the first time – no rework). Also, he supports the development of practice / discipline standards that enable the staff to understand how things are done within A3 ( so we all know what we're supposed to be doing) and what our roles and deliverables are (again, keeps us on track ). Another reason we like having Sid around (besides his extra tickets to Appalachian Football games) is that he is good at breaking things. This is a very good thing when it comes to application and web site testing. Other things that make him valuable to A3 and our clients is Sid's work history with wireless networking; electronics hardware integration; mechanical design; systems / process / product engineering.

Sid gets a kick out of meeting new clients and people in general. He enjoys learning interesting facts about a plethora of different businesses and industries. He likes the variety of opportunities within A3 where he feels he adds value. In other words, it's nice to not just wear one hat.

According to Sid he was lucky to find Lisa Boswell. She is willing to put up with him. Sid has 1 daughter, Lauren, who is married. And although she is 28, Sid claims he isn't old enough to be a grand dad yet. When you ask about his hometown you get the story of a military brat; “longest I have lived in one place is 10 years here in Greensboro, 6 years Anchorage AK, 6 years Germany and multiple locations.” He has local ties though with relatives from King / Rural Hall (Stokes County) and Hertford (Perquimans / Chowan Counties) NC.

When not in front of his computer Sid enjoys motorcycles, golf, shooting sports (clays, targets), snow skiing, scuba diving, archery, and ASU Football.

As a testament to his fiber, he was a single parent for 17 years. He was awarded custody of his then 4 year old daughter by a female Judge in Alaska when he was just 23 years old. He thought he was sunk when he saw the judge, but all she asked was “how much child support do you want?”

Testimonials

“As our network needs expanded and our Web presence increased significantly, we made the decision to outsource in order to take advantage of a more comprehensive skill set and the benefits of 24/7 managed service solution.  We selected A3 based on a number of positive referrals and their experience dealing with companies of similar size and complexity.”  Scott K., Chief Financial Officer.
