Entrepreneurial Spirit Lands A3 On International Map

Rich Guarino is the Managing Partner of A3 IT Solutions in Greensboro, NC. Rich started A3 in 2003 and has grown the business to a 25 employee firm helping businesses of all sizes address their Information Technology needs.

Rich has been instrumental in the fight against narcotics terrorism by serving as the chief architect on a software development project which uses photo recognition of license plates and compares those real-time with criminal databases. This information quickly provides law enforcement with information about suspects who may need to be held for questioning. This project is part of a cooperative effort between the US and Thai government.

Rich works very closely with the Naval Post Graduate Program in Monterey, CA to provide local and state government with GPS solutions which allow them to track personnel movement during emergency situations. This effort entails designing and developing a Situational Awareness (SA) application that tracks various assets and personnel on 3D maps. It integrates video draping to bring in live video streams of an area of operations for the command and control. It provides a tactical solution for military, civilian law enforcement and first responders along with humanitarian and disaster relief support. The application is slated to be trialed in Monterey County by the Sherriff's office and a small trial for fire fighters fighting the wild fires in CA. The next stage for the application will be Biometrics ability.

Rich led A3 in becoming one of 17 companies in the country to achieve Level 1 PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant provider status. PCI Compliant companies must undergo a rigorous assessment and structuring process to insure the security of credit card information maintained by clients. This service will continue to bring high profile companies to the Triad market for IT Solutions.
